As a Swedish baker, I was surprised when I first moved to the United States and discovered how difficult it was to find real, authentic sourdough bread. Most of what I saw on store shelves was mass-produced, overly processed, and lacked the deep flavor and character that comes from long fermentation and natural ingredients.

In Sweden, bread is a craft—something made by hand, with patience and care. That’s when I realized there was a need here for truly authentic sourdough. Handcrafted sourdough bread is not just more flavorful and aromatic—it’s easier to digest, more nutritious, and connects us to an age-old tradition of slow food.

So I fired up my oven and started baking to bring that tradition to life here, one loaf at a time.

Meet your baker!

Hi, I’m a Swedish-trained pastry chef who’s been in love with baking since I was tall enough to reach the counter. I studied at Sweden’s top culinary schools, worked my way up to head of pastry at one of the country’s best bakeries, and then set off to explore the world after a few years in the hustle and bustle of the restaurant industry.

While traveling, I met my husband, picked up some design skills, and eventually landed in the U.S. where I realized something was missing: real bread. So I started FLOUR, to bring handmade, slow-fermented, European-style sourdough to the Phoenix Valley. Come grab a loaf at my next porch pickup and taste the difference!
